More than four years after Capernwray Diving Centre was first listed for sale, it is still looking for a buyer. The real estate agency handling the listing is now seeking offers over £1.6 million. The dive site is located at Jackdaw Quarry near Carnforth, Lancashire, UK. It was first listed in 2022 for £3 million, then relisted by Savills in August 2024 with an undisclosed asking price. On 29 September, Savills sent the current listing to potential buyers, offering the diving and open water swimming business together with about 7.35 hectares (18.15 acres) of freehold land.
Since it was marketed in 2024, the sale details have changed. At the time, it was described as a 24-acre site with planning permission for 19 holiday lodges next to the flooded quarry. The current offer does not include the adjoining development land, but Savills says in the new description that the seller would consider selling the plot separately. The sale will include all shares in Capernwray Diving Centre Ltd, as well as fixtures, fittings and rental equipment. The price includes the shop and Porthole restaurant, changing rooms and showers, and a meeting room overlooking the lake that can accommodate up to 30 delegates. There is also a diving and cylinder testing workshop, an equipment storage area and a car park for about 250 vehicles.

Capernwray was opened by Carol and David Hack in 1997. It is a flooded limestone quarry with a maximum depth of about 20 metres (66 feet). The site has both shallow training platforms and a deep-water quay, and offers facilities for divers from beginners to those doing more advanced training. It is one of the most popular inland training sites in North West England and is also popular with open water swimmers. Underwater features include a Hawker Siddeley 748 aircraft, helicopters, boats and simulated caves, while fish in the quarry include perch, roach, trout and sturgeon.
